One Tree Planted

Within the last two years, this non-profit One Tree Planted has grown over five million trees. Their goal–– reforestation–– to combat the major attacks on forests we have today.

Trillion Trees

In order to grow a trillion trees by the year 2050, Trillion Trees has sought out to connect investors with conservation forest ventures. The current losing net of trees is 10 billion per year; by numerous methods be it landscape ventures or sectoral change, Trillion Trees is dedicated to funding those projects.

Trees for Future

Founded in 1989, this NGO aims to improve the livelihoods of impoverished farmers by reforesting degraded lands. They train farmers over a 4 year period to revitalize and reforest their lands in a sustainable way across more than 60 nations in Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

The Amazon Watch

The Amazon Watch works to protect the rainforest and advance indigenous peoples’ rights in the Amazon Basin since 1996. In partnership with indigenous and environmental organizations its main goals are to stop the destruction of the Amazon by challenging harmful development programs and resource extractions, advancing indigenous-led alternative solutions, and supporting climate justice.

Forest Peoples Programme

The Forest Peoples Programme is a human rights organization working with forest peoples across the globe to secure their rights to their lands and their livelihoods. The program was founded in 1990 and works alongside more than 60 partner organizations representing indigenous peoples and forest communities from across  Africa, Asia & the Pacific, Europe, North America, and South & Central America.

Rainforest Alliance

Founded in 1987, the Rainforest Alliance works with more than 2 million certified farmers and more than 5000 companies in over 70 countries across Latin America, Africa, Canada, the US and Asia. It tries to bring diverse allies in business, agriculture and forests together to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities, promote these communities’ human rights, and help them mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis. It is a global leader in sustainability certification to advance best practices for land use, farm management, and the stewardship of natural resources.

American Forests

American Forests aims to reforest America and promote tree equity across American cities to resolve the present disparities where low-income neighborhoods have a fraction of the trees found in more affluent neighborhoods. These disparities can impact academic performance, crime rates, personal health and even increased illness and death from extreme heat and poor air quality. American Forests was founded in 1875 and partners up with government officials to enact policies that protect and expand the many benefits forests provide.

The Amazon Conservation Team

The Amazon Conservation Team works across the Northwest Amazon (Colombia), the Northeast Amazon (Suriname), and Brazil. It partners with indigenous and other local communities to protect tropical forests and strengthen traditional culture.

Rainforest Foundation US 

The Rainforest Foundation US works to protect rainforests in Central and South America by working with indigenous communities. It aims to secure indigenous peoples’ rights to their territories, strengthening sustainable land management and monitoring their forests by supplying legal and technical support so that indigenous communities have the information needed to make decisions and influence public policy. Its goals include building networks of indigenous technical experts who manage and analyze satellite data, monitor forests and take action to keep illegal loggers, miners, and traffickers off of their ancestral lands.
